Graduation Time!

It's graudation time again! I always struggle with these cards mostly because I don't really have a good stamp set with classic images but I did see a card on Pinterest and so cased it. The school colors are forest green and gold. I am wondering if this is enough gold and if the green is forest-y enough =).

The stamped Happy Graduation image is retired from Stampin Up but I think it's such a classic. For the grad hat I used a 1-3/8" square punch and layered it with a 1 1/4 in. square. I think graduation time is the only time I use SU's brushed gold paper. To me it's the nicest brushed gold paper out there because it has a beautiful warm tone. The tie is made from Certainly Celery satin ribbon and glue dotted on. The card stock is basic black and Garden Green. On top of the cap I used SU's glitter brad and shredded a black grosgrain ribbon for the tassel. You gotta love the new SU Framelits!

I love the way it turned out. I hope you do too!

Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Hi Tiffany!

What a surprise - thank you for the honor of being among some very talented crafters! I'm not really sure if I'm supposed to do anything now but I've copied the badge onto my post but is it supposed to go onto my sidebar? Please let me know and thank you again!
