Another Graduation Card

Here is a quick little post again. The gals at work are always asking me to make a card. This time it was for graduation. I was really crunched for time and so this is what I came up with. Once again I used the Happy Graduation stamp that is retired. The cs colors are Marina Mist and Pacific Point and brushed gold.

It's a Boy!

Hello! This will be a very quick post today. We had a baby shower at work for one of the gals in our office.  She LOVES bears so I used two retired sets to come up with this card. Yes, she's expecting a boy! It all came together very quickly! This is my go-to layout when I'm in a hurry. I just love it!

Recipe:
Stamps: both retired Cute & Cuddly and Nursery Necessities for the sentiment
Papers: Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake and Whisper White
Inks: Stazon Black and Marina Mist
Other: Retired Marina Mist ribbon and retired Pacific Point Corduroy button, polka dot and snowflake embossing folders, 2-1/2 & 3" circle, Word Window and Modern Label punches

Merry Monday Challenge #24 {Frosty Greetings}

Christmas in June!.... this is my kind of challenge as I'm always sad when I have to put away my Christmas goodies!

Anyway here's my take on this very fun challenge called Merry Monday at Always Playing with Paper. The challenge is to make a Christmas card using the design and layout the team has put up. I think this should qualify for the design though it is a liberal take on it. 

It is my first time playing here but oh so fun!

PP99 - Leslie's Color Challenge

Hello! I have not posted for a week! I guess I have been busier than usual lately but today I did want to play along with the Paper Players #99 Color Challenge.  This is my second time playing.  What fun! =) I finally used the Apothecary Art set that has been on my shelf for a while. The images are so beautiful; I can't believe I waited so long to use it!

I love these colors and I thought they would be very beautiful against a neutral and so I chose Very Vanilla for my base and added a piece of dry embossed piece of Vanilla again and ran that through my big shot with the Vintage embossing folder. I stamped the second largest frame using Lucky Limeade ink and layered it with the Melon Mambo. Both were cut using the Labels Colleciton Framelits. (I love these dies a lot!) The strip of Basic Gray dsp is from the Neutrals paper stack and the Lucky Limeade butterflies finish off the card. (Did you notice the Linen Thread for the antennas?) To finish it off the sentiment is stamped with Basic Gray ink.

I am happy with the way it turned out and I hope you like it too!

Fun and Summery Pinwheel Money Holders!

These are so fun and summery!!!

I put together a few of these money holders for my upline's Inspiration Night. I had always wanted to make a good money holder and a pinwheel card so I decided to combine them together to make a pinwheel money holder!

It took me a while to design and then cut, score, stamp and punch 50 kits in order to get it down to be a 5 minute card so by the time I got to take the pictures, it was pretty dark. I made 50 kits because that's how may people were coming to the class! I hope I'll be able to take better pictures and post them before swapping these little guys. =) They're super cute in person! I might even post measurements and instructions.  Oh yes, you can decorate the inside to however you would like!

The Paper Players #97

This is my first time playing along with the Paper Players. Sounds like fun and I've always wanted to give it a try. =) This is a relatively new stamp set to me. I mentioned in an earlier post about getting a stamp set that speaks to you right away and this is a good example why. I waited a couple of years to get this set and now it's retiring! =( Live and learn, right? Anyway back to the card. I took my color cues from the Color Coach when I looked up So Saffron. I used different greens because I thought different hues would be more interesting. We'll see how this goes!

Inks: Certainly Celery, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron and Chcolate Chip
Other: Scallop circle die, 3 inch punch, Whisper White taffeta ribbon (retired, I believe) and rhinestones

Birthday card for a 4 year old

This is going to be quick one. My friend at work asked me for a birthday card for a 4 year old girl that she needed today and this is what I came up with. It was after all a last minute request but I did get to make it and finish it in 15 minutes with what I had on hand in the office. Thank goodness for SU's starter set of inks (the tiny little set of ink cubes) and my one stamp set there. I did regret not having any glitter though. What little girl would not have loved some glitter!
